On 11 March 2011, Japan was struck by the most powerful earthquake in its history, triggering a devastating tsunami. Almost 28,000 people have been reported dead or missing and tens of thousands have lost their homes. The suffering and destruction is widespread. The people of Japan are in desperate need of help.
As a Japanese car manufacturer, we are very concerned about the plight of the population. That’s why we have been doing everything in our power to help with the recovery. Nissan has donated ¥30 million to Japan Platform (a Japanese NGO) and on top of this, we have also collected €3.5 million from our companies and employees right across Europe. All these funds will go towards supporting the relief effort on the ground.
All these months later, there are still thousands of people in desperate need of help and support. Please will you make a donation to the British Red Cross and help the people of Japan? Your donations will be passed on to the Japanese Red Cross and they could be put towards funding the construction of temporary housing or the provision of basic necessities likes rice cookers, microwaves and kettles.
Together, we can contribute towards bringing hope and possibility back to the people of Japan. Every donation however small, really makes a difference.
Please make a donation to the British Red Cross today.
